在蚁害区域内，对已竣工并交付使用的建筑物，由于在建房时未采取过防蚁药物处理，迟早会发生白蚁的危害，这类建筑物防制白蚁危害的措施主要有:首先要创造不利白蚁生存的环境，-般采取通风、透光、干燥等措施来消除室内的潮湿，室内经常要打扫，清除一切能诱集白蚁的垃圾废品，楼梯及阴暗角落不易堆放木柴杂物，室外场地尽量不要堆集枯枝、弃物或建筑木材等;其次要预防白蚁的入侵，特别是在白蚁的繁殖分群季节，采取扑打、灯光诱杀或药物杀灭等方法消灭分飞的有翅繁殖蚁，防止新的蚁群产生;重要的是对建筑发现蚁患后要及时请专业技术人员采取有效的灭治措施，白蚁的灭治需要有专业的技术、专用的工具和有效的药物，专业技术人员会根据现场的具体情况，白蚁的种类和蚁害的程度等对症处置，因此住户要注意保护好现场，切勿乱动白蚁的出飞孔，阻止白蚁继续蔓延扩散侵袭。
